Tenizol Oral Tablet is a medication used for the treatment and control of parasitic infections in dogs and cats. Each tablet is round and white, with a notch line in the middle, containing 50 mg of praziquantel and 500 mg of fenbendazole.
Indications for Use
Tenizol Oral Tablet is effective against the following parasites:
- Roundworms (Ascarides): Toxocara canis, Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina
- Hookworms: Ancylostoma caninum, Ancylostoma tubaeforme, Uncinaria stenocephala
- Whipworms: Trichuris vulpis
- Tapeworms: Dipylidium caninum, Echinococcus granulosus, Echinococcus multilocularis, Taenia pisiformis, T. taeniaeformis, T. hydatigena, T. ovis, T. multiceps, T. serialis, Mesocestoides corti, Spirometra spp.
Administration
- Dosage: The pharmacologic dose is 5 mg praziquantel / kg bw/day and 50 mg fenbendazole / kg bw/day. The practical dose is 1 tablet per 10 kg body weight.
- Treatment Regimen: Administer once daily for 3 consecutive days.
- Administration: Tablets can be given by inserting into sausages, wrapping in sausages, breaking and mixing with other meals, or administering directly by making the animals swallow.
- Precautions: No special dietary restrictions are necessary before administration.
